Of Mid-Autumn at the Start of Spring.. ;)

So on Wednesday was where we Cinas celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival a.k.a Lantern Festival a.k.a Mooncake festival.. WeiNian finally got rid of the bed in his living room (which I'm sleeping on at the moment) so he decided to have a "House Warming" since he havent had a party in his place before and since he has the Wii at his place, why not??

So that night we all gathered there and started partying with the Wii and mahjong with chips.. Suddenly we all heard a furious knock on the door and it was the management of the building saying we're making too much noise.. Yes, potong steam much! Eventually we decided to bring the party over to Raymond's place instead since tht's whr they normally have their parties and gatherings.. So off we go with the whole Wii Rock Band equipments (Mic, Guitar, Drums) and the Mahjong..

Of stuffs you do when you dont feel like sleeping at 2am....

So this has been an interesting and awesome-ful going to end soon holiday week so far..

Let's start off with Candy's visit. She came over for her sis's convo and we (me, Lucas and Candy) managed to meet up and did a little catch up.

On Sunday while waiting for the tram on Bourke st for the weekly basketball session, out of nowhere there was this huge ass parade of lion dance along Swanston. Okay, I know Aussie's like 2 hrs earlier than Msia but CNY in August??

Then the highlight of the week, MERDEKA CELEBRATION at The Billboard with DJ Fuzz and Mizz Nina! The party was.. BAAAAYM! Lucas tagged along and Candy joined later with her sis. Was an awesome night and got home bout 4am. *thumbs up*

The next morning I was walking around the city to look for a charger for my stoooopid asss laptop which is sorta dodgy. I've to like shake it a little and then it works. Once I got on Swanston, I realized that the tents set up for the MSFW was filled with humans. So I kepoh sikit la go take a peep. I tell you, Nothing beats seeing models in their PJs ONLY first thing in the morning.. ;)

And what beats models in their PJs first thing in the morning? BANANAS in Pajamas!!! My life.. complete..

Last night we had our first house party here at home with a few friends over like Robbee, Joshua, Janice, Elaine and Janice. Had an AWESOME potluck dinner with herbal chicken + Shepherd's Pie courtesy of Joshua, Roasted chicken with Perinaise sauce courtesy of Janice, Spaghetti Cabonara courtesy of Elaine, and 2 Choc on Choc cake + Lemon cheese cake courtesy of the hosts. Robbee of course brought booze. Everyone left at about 12ish.

After cleaning up and chilling and mandi-ing. Me, Happie and Cheah Loong were in the living room just having a chat cause we coudlnt really sleep (2am). We were planning to go jogging the next morning. Then the most random thought came to mind: "Let's go jog NOW". Baaaaaymmm!! Being the crazy housemates we are, we changed and got our asses on the streets and jogged along the river. Syokness of running in my shorts at 2am in winter is indescribable yo!

Another 3 days till the week's over and I'll be starting class again + work at Shuji Sushi. Fingers crossed I'll get awesome work schedule with Jamie coming over next week and the shopping spree begins!

Of updates!

So it's been about two months now I've been in Melb.

Cliche:

Question: "How's it over there?"

Answer:"Settling down just fine.. Getting used to the weather (prefer it better than the humid+hot+sweaty weather back home)"

So yeah.. Within this two months I've been adapting well with the weather till i can wear shorts and slippers out on a winter's day. I've also moved in to my new house together with Marc, Happie, and Cheah Loong! Lovin it very much here where it feels so much more homey and who wouldnt love staying in a house full of whacky people?! Baking whatnots every week, playing Blackjack whenever you're bored, learning Mahjong and winning the people who taught you how to play it, trips to DFOs and snugglin on the sofa/bed and watching movies every other night! (P.s We need more movies!!!)

For the past month many happened.. For starters was what mentioned above, I moved in to my new place.. I also applied for like.. countless job openings and only managed to get ONE who called back for an interview.. It's a sushi place called Shuji Sushi.. They said they'd call me back to let me know when and where I'll start work but so far.. no news yet.. :( Really looking forward for a job so I can start spending $1 to $1 rather than $1 to RM 2.8.. Can cry when you have a meal of Fried Rice for $10!!! RM 28 DEIH!!!

It's the first Monday of my one week holiday today.. Chick vs Dick was my lifeline so far since holiday started last Friday.. The week is filled with awesome plans though.. It's Merdeka eve today!! Gonna be celebrating it with DJ Fuzz and Miss Nina @ Billboard tonight.. *thumbs up* On Tuesday it's dinner/movie with WeiNian and the rest of the gang.. Wednesday is the "Ane Barber 1st House Party" where we have our close Msian friends over to our place (Ane Barber cause.. Marc cut mine and CheahLoong's hair) for a potluck dinner.. Thursday it's bball with WeiNian and the gang again.. That's all the plans for now.. Hope ShujiSushi calls back soon with good news and my shifts doesnt clash with the plans I have.. :S

Of the land down under..

G'day mates!

Ahhhh.. Been so long since I updated.. Anyways, For the benefit of those who still dont know (wtf??), I'm all the way at the "Land Down Under"! Yesh, been in Melbourne for over a month now..

Just a brief update on what's going on..

Studies:

I'm doing my Bachelor of Business Degree in International Business at RMIT, Melbourne!

Assignments and tests has already started as I'm now going into my 4th week here in Uni.. Have no idea how I'm gonna start those assignments but I'd better get help soon.. :O

Accommodation:

My current room is not bad and it's enough.. for survival.. Got a reasonably sized room to myself and share the other facilities like kitchen and bathroom with 4 other housemates (Though I dont see them much since they hide themselves in their rooms)..

BUT, I fortunately managed to find myself a better offer from WeiNian when he offered me to move in with him and TekYit at their place! It's definitely cheaper since we'll be sharing the rent, I'd have internet (essential), and it'll be relatively nearer to Uni compared to my current room.. Downside is that I'll be sleeping in the living room (which has a bed).. Another offer came by when Marc, Happie and CheahLoong offered me to move in with them! It's really an awesome place and it's a 5-10mins walk to Uni!

price if relatively the same to what WeiNian offered but I get to sleep in a room (which mother prefers).. So now, fingers crossed that the person who's ineterested in moving into my current room is confirmed then I'll be able to move out!

Friends:

Well, I was lonely.. only for the first hour since I touched down! ngehehe.. I'd consider myself lucky for having awesome people here to accommodate me.. People like WeiNian who brought me out for my first lunch here; Lucas who let me stay over the first night I was here;

Venue : Uttama Bodhi Vihara (Bandar Utama Buddhist Society)

Catered for : Teenagers aged 13 – 19 (Youths above 19 years old are most welcomed to join)
